My book is here and I’m so happy to share it with you!

This is a short email because I’m sharing a glimpse of chapter one with all of my amazing subscribers. Access to the full chapter is available for my paid subscribers at the very end of this post. (You can upgrade to paid here)

"A masterpiece for anyone wanting to make their literary dreams come true. WOW! What a treasure of insights into the craft of writing. Spark is completely inspiring and motivating for book lovers and bookwriters. What a luxurious read. Spark is right up there with King's On Writing and Hodgins' A Passion for Narrative." -Richard Van Camp

Here’s a sneak peek of chapter one (get full access at the end of this post):

A shot from my yard of the beautiful Aurora Borealis that recently blessed our skies!

If you’ve ever wanted to write a book for kids or young adults, I’m hopeful that what I share in Spark will help you build the writing life you dream of.

If you aren’t a writer or an aspiring writer, please could you do me a favour? Could you share this with someone you know who might be? And enjoy this photo of the aurora that I took the other night while cuddled up under a blanket with two of my little boys.

Thank you for your support!

xoxo

If you’re new here, my name is Alice Kuipers and I’m a writer, mother and dog-owner transplanted twenty years ago to the Canadian prairies from England. I’ve published fourteen books in 36 countries and my writing has been described as: “For storytellers and story lovers,” by Kirkus Reviews; ‘Gorgeous, heart-ripping, important,” by VOYA; and “Intense and wonderful” by Bif Naked.

Read: I’ve been reading

Lev Grossman
’s The Bright Sword as I was lucky enough to interview him and David Robertson in an event at Wordfest this week. Wordfest is a brilliant festival for authors and readers. I’m here with those same two little boys who I enjoyed the aurora with. We had bullet train sushi last night, which they loved, then the event, which I loved even more. All that to say! The Bright Sword is a beautiful novel, filled with the stories we’ve never taken time to explore from the Arthurian legends. I loved it so much and I’m headed to Lev’s Substack next because his writing is superb.

We’re still navigating our home life with someone with Alzheimer’s, and this essay that I shared a while ago reminds me of the good moments:
