The last couple of weeks, I’ve been quiet on here. Thinking, writing, reflecting, planning. And I’m excited for what’s coming up!

The very lovely writers over at Midstory Magazine are hosting a 30-day writing Incubator: Using Your Voice During Hard Times. I’m so delighted to be doing a free workshop with them that any of you can come along to…

Using Wintering, by

, as a jumping off point (although you don’t need to have read it, lots of us read it together earlier this year), together we’ll reflect, reset, and shape a writing year. As we emerge from winter in the Northern Hemisphere, whenever winter is for you, we’ll come up with a concrete individual writing plan each.

As many of you know, I’ve been publishing books for over twenty years and I’m Head of Coaching at The Novelry. This means I talk about writing one-on-one and in group sessions every day and so I’m thrilled to share this side of my life with you. With four children and various family complexities, as I wrote about last year, learning how to figure out my writing season, and staying true to my North Star is vital for my writing life.

I can’t wait to share my tools and tips with you! Midstory Magazine will send you the free link here.

And if you’re not a writer, relax and grab a cup of tea. I’ll have a more usual written post next week, all about shifting from writing for young readers to writing crime. Thank you for being here with me—I’m ever grateful. Tell me how you are!

xoxo

If you’re new here, my name is Alice Kuipers and I’m a writer, mother and dog and cat-owner transplanted twenty years ago to the Canadian prairies from England. Join me for coffee breaks in my writing life.
